- My parents met while they were both working at the Monocon in Groenlo . My father was sent to South Africa when the Monocon wanted to set up a factory in SA - Johannesburg. My mom joined him about a year later, and 2 weeks later they were married in the Irene Church, starting married life in Troyville and later when the children came first in Melville JHB and later in Linden JHB. In between in 1961 they returned to the Netherlands but a couple of months later my dad was asked to help set up two South African packaging firms SA Waxed Containers and Plastic Packaging Industries, and back we came to S.A. At the time of his retirement he was a Director and General Manager of both Companies .
