A former Ottawa City Council candidate will be in Will County court in March after getting caught in a Joliet prostitution sting.
Duane B. "Dino" Einhaus, 43, 844 Pike Place, was cited Thursday, Feb. 17, on a misdemeanor complaint of soliciting a prostitute. His court hearing will be Tuesday, March 22, in Will County.
Joliet police conducted an operation in which they posted phony, suggestive advertisements on several websites. Police said Einhaus responded to one of the advertisements and then phoned a woman who was an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute.
Einhaus and the undercover officer met at a Red Roof Inn, where he arrived in a green Ford Mustang, according to police. They entered a room and Einhaus agreed to pay $100 for 30 minutes of sex, police said. The undercover officer then signaled other officers, who arrested Einhaus. Police said a surveillance camera recorded Einhaus'
encounter with the undercover officer. Einhaus was released on a personal recognizance bond.
Einhaus ran for city commissioner in 2007, but lost in the primary.
